The Masters
This is such an amazing week for golf! The Masters (Augusta Invitational), the legendary golf tournament, has arrived! This year makes it super exciting because not only are players from the PGA players invited to play, but we also have 18 LIV Golfers that will be playing as well! This is huge because this marks the first time that PGA Tour and LIV (the Saudi Arabian backed-league) have had golfers playing within the same event.
There will be favorites such as Tiger Woods (5x winner), Rory McIlroy, Jon Rahm, Scottie Scheffler (1x), and Cameron Smith will be competing in the tournament. We also have reputable names such as Tony Finau, Tommy Fleetwood, Bryson Dechambeau, Viktor Hovland, Dustin Johnson (1x), Sergio Garcia (1x), and legends like Fred Couples (1x), Phil Mickelson (3x), and Vijay Singh(1x) In total, 88 players will be in the field and there is no doubt that this field will be one of the most interesting and satisfying to watch!
The Masters is played at an iconic course that measures over 7,544 yards making it one of the longest courses as well as a par of 72. What makes this tournament so special is that it is one of four Majors that is played at the same venue each year. If that doesn’t say enough, The Masters is know for its tradition: Each hole has a theme and is named after a plant that grew on the land. The winner of the Masters plays for a purse of $15 million purse, receives the legendary Masters Green Jacket, and also last year’s winner gets to pick the menu for this years traditional dinner. It is an all out pinseeking paradise for all golf lovers to get to tune in and watch it this weekend.
